Gold was formed in 1969 in San Francisco's Mission District. The band played shows for Bill Graham at the Fillmore West and Winterland, sharing bills with Ten Years After, Big Brother and the Holding Co.,Tower of Power, Hot Tuna and Michael Bloomfield. They also played shows sponsored by The Hells Angels San Francisco with acts such as Janis Joplin and Cold Blood. The bands sound mixes a blend of high energy Rock, Funk and Blues. Two CD'S recorded in 1970 & 1971 are available online at www.worldinsound.com. They are titled Mission Rock and Oregins.
